I have been singing professionally for over 30 years, spanning genres ranging from Rock to Blues to Jazz, to Broadway Musicals.
I believe that if you have a gift you are supposed to give back. I give back through teaching.
Singing is so therapeutic for the mind and the body. Singing is for everybody, not just professionals, but there is a difference between singing and BEING a SINGER. I teach people how to become a Singer, even if their ultimate goal is just to sing better in the shower.
I am blessed to be able to make a living doing things that I am passionate about; performing and teaching music.
My passion is said to be infectious and passes on to my students. When a student starts to notice a significant improvement in their singing, the response is so gratifying.
Being a working musician as well as a teacher gives me credibility with a student. You hear too often that "those that can, do, and those that can't, teach." I am able to give my students a "real world" view of singing for an audience, because I am out there doing it.
I work with the safe, proven fundamentals of learning voice. I offer group, skype and private lessons, separated by skill level, for many different age groups and genres.
My approach with a beginning Karaoke singer is different than a school-age beginner, which is different than a professional coaching session.
We start by talking about your goals, then figure out a plan to get you where you want to go.
My biggest concern is to do no harm. The learning experience needs to be safe and fun and relevant to what the student is trying to accomplish.
